October 6th, 2011

sound.transmission.light is a project by On-Yau Lui and Richard Byers and was presented at the Australian Embassy Berlin, on October 20, 2011, accompanied by Clayton Thomas on double bass for the opening night.

Thomas performed solo improvised free jazz accompanied by real time sound reactive projections programmed and finessed by Byers via iPhone live from the audience. The light is projected onto paper screen made by Lui, constructed from thousands of used teabags, handcrafted to create three 5m length paper screens hanging in the glass roofed atrium of the Embassy.

The foyer exhibition will be running through winter 2011 open Mon-Fri. Check opening hours with the embassy on 030 88 00 88 359
